2017.01.04nReviews on Lady Chatterleys LovernActually, I have no idea where to begin writing the review of this book. Too impressed? Too shocked? I cannot figure out.nIt seems to us, in the twenty first century, its no longer a book that is contentious. But back to that time, in 1920s, the depiction of love making, the nude, the mound of Venus, is mostly unacceptable. People cannot take this blatant break of the traditional literary world. As the old English is blowed out by the industrial English, whats the point of these facade reserve? The life of the body is a greater reality than the life of the mind, for the mind is all about money, fame. And these two are the pillars of the outside. And money is a long way before.nIve seen Connie, bred and educated well, wandering in the world of Cliffords self-centered world. Though shes a chip of the old block, she seems too taciturn, to mild in the cronies of kind of Clifford. And she seems born to wait, wait for need, and most importantly, wait for love. As for Mellors, pneumonia wounded on his health, but it never diminished his vitality for love. After fathoming his wife, the keeping, the refusing and betraying, he decided to go back to Tevershall, letting go of all his becoming. He used that dialect to show his inherent vulgar, he kept himself to his hut, determining not to be close to woman. His wondering eyes, always show scorning which always flickers on his face, too. He had gone through too much to experience more. He had seen through women.nBut Connie is different. Having enough of the upper class mans nothingness, Connie finds herself a new person when being with Mellors. She loves him, being with him, shed show stark naked, from body to soul. How beautiful it is to wake up with the one you love lying beside you! And this is what Connie Constance feels. And being injured, Mellors always keeps quite when asked of saying loving me by Connie. He does love Connie. But he dares not say it. Only when he and she achieve the orgasm simultaneously, he finds that in that creative process, it is more than procreative. He gives the body to Connie, and also the soul.nD. H. Lawrence shows his seeing and concern about this new industrialized England through Mellors Oliver and Connie Constance. The environment contaminated by pit-exhuming, the air polluted by coal-burning, and the collieries poisoned by money-making. If they could embroider their own emblems, what beautiful world will it be. However, theres nothing he can do but just waiting Connie droopingly, yet with a hopeful heart.
