BB5(Ball Bearing 5)碟刹，由美国SRAM公司旗下品牌AVID出品 。 Avid碟刹使用一种独特的称为卡钳配置系统(CPS)的装配系统。这些凹凸垫圈构成的堆栈使得卡钳和碟盘能够精确的校准，而不用担心前叉和车架的安装支架的公差问题，使刹车垫接触完美平直。

只有为单边拉动(side-pull)类型刹车设计的刹把才能用于这款碟刹，如Avid's Speed Dial系列和FR5刹把。为了最好的操作和性能，Avid强力推荐使用Avid Speed Dial刹把、更好质量的刹车线和线管。否则会减弱刹车的性能。Avid碟刹兼容44mm, 6-螺钉(bolt)的国际标准花鼓。刹车垫更换当刹车垫的总体厚度(包括衬板和摩擦介质)少于3mm时，就需要更换了。取下旧刹车垫逆时针转动调整旋钮，直到最外。捏住整个刹车垫组合，直直的向外同时拉出两个刹车垫。
