纽卡斯尔大学(Newcastle University),简称纽大,是位于英国英格兰东北部的世界一流研究型大学,英国着名公立大学。纽大是英国着名的常春藤联盟罗素大学集团,N8大学联盟的成员,英国老牌名校之一,拥有英国顶尖的医学院,同时该校在科学、工程、法学及人文社科等方面皆相当出色,此外,也是英国拥有最多欧盟研究档案的大学之一。纽卡斯尔大学目前除了英国泰恩河畔纽卡斯尔本校区外,在亚洲的马来西亚以及新加坡分别设立了马来西亚校区和新加坡校区教授部分专业领域课程。
该校创建于1834年,是英国历史最悠久的大学之一,创建之初名为「医学与外科学院」(School of Medicine and Surgery),随后成为分裂改制前的杜伦大学的另一半部的学院,在1963年根据国会法案(Act of Parliament)与杜伦大学分别成立各自独立的学校,正式全名为「泰恩河畔纽卡斯尔大学」(University of Newcastle upon Tyne)。
2014年12月18日,在英国唯一由官方每7年发布一次的REF英国大学科研实力(原RAE)排名中,纽卡斯尔大学居全英第16位;在2018年泰晤士高等教育世界大学排名位居全英第26位;在2019年QS世界大学排名上位居英国第22位,世界第141位;在2018年USnews世界大学排名居第187位;在2017英国政府教学卓越框架质量榜单中,成为TEF金奖大学;在最新2018及2019QS世界大学排名中,纽卡斯尔大学获得5+星级评分,全英仅有两所大学获此殊荣。
